Exercise 4.

Suppose T:23 is a linear transformation such that T(𝐞1)=[201] and T(𝐞2)=[132].

  1. (a)

    Find a formula for T(𝐱), that is, compute T([x1x2]).

  2. (b)

    Find the standard matrix for T.

Exercise 5.

Suppose T:32 is a linear transformation such that

T([137])=T([520])

Find a nontrivial solution to T(𝐱)=𝟎.

Exercise 6.

Suppose T:nm is a linear transformatin. Show that if m>n, then T cannot be onto.
